I am very excited to announce that I am starting a new chapter in my journey as an artist!
In fall 2021, I am launching a new website - The Fine Art of Dance - which will be devoted entirely to artwork inspired by dance. Check out the snazzy landing page for the new site:
Please share the website with fellow dancers and dance enthusiasts!
You may be wondering why I am focusing my art on dancers. Let me tell you!
The desire to draw and paint dancers was what actually inspired me to start studying art and pursuing my art professionally in the first place.
From 2008 to 2012, I took ballroom dance lessons with the amazing Arthur Murray studio in Edmonton, Alberta, and even competed as an amateur in Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Banff. After I was sidelined by an injury in 2011, I found myself drawing and painting the dancers I had watched compete. By 2013, I made the decision to move from Alberta to Toronto so I could study art full-time at The Academy of Realist Art.
After a seven-year break from dance, I resumed taking lessons at my new dance home, the very inspiring Yorkville studio, and found myself drawing and painting dancers again.
Dance is my passion. It brings me joy. It fascinates me. I want to devote my art to dance.
